How Kindness and Caring can be harnessed                          as a currency to change the World  ...

Caring Economics is a subject that really catches people's attention because, as Dr
Riane Eisler (an eminent social scientist and listed as one of 20 of the world's great peace makers) points out,  only half the economy is measured, counted and valued.

The other 50% is invisible and yet without it the other half could not function.
Socially and economically essential, the work of care-giving and home-making;
community support and volunteering; and the preservation and protection of the
natural environment are not valued in the current economy.  Dr Eisler says, we need to create a
FULL SPECTRUM economy where everything is counted and valued.

Nobel economist Joseph Stiglitz, says "What we measure affects what we do. If we have
the wrong measures, we will strive for the wrong things."

During this evening, best-seling author & business woman Gina Lazenby will provide research which proves that compassion and caring can actually be harnessed as a new currency, with strong financial results. It is the kind of material that makes you really stop and think.

A key aspect of Caring Economics which Gina will also be talking about is the inadequacy of using GDP to measure a country's wealth. Most recently, there has been much in the European press about President Sarkozy's embrace of a study he commissioned in France led by two Nobel economists, including Stiglitz, which recommended that the 'GDP fetishism' is dropped in favour of valuing quality of life and other idicators which show the real health of a nation.

Presenter: Gina Lazenby, best-selling author on homes, champion for women in enterprise and Life Flow coach, has studied at Dr Eisler's Partnership Studies Centre in North America and is the only Conversation Leader outside of the USA for this thought-provoking material.

TIMINGS: Community supper served at 6.30 and the talk will commence about 7.30, please arrive from 6pm.

Group discussion should ened around 10pm

BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL

What people have said at presentations in Sydney:......
"I found Gina's presentation of Caring Economics to be thoughtful and inspiring.  It allowed me to see the value of Caring Economics at this time when, globally, our uncaring economic system is in such crisis.   By including social and environmental factors as well as a more feminine mindset, Caring Economics provides a way forward for a more sustainable and socially just world."

Dr Ben-Zion Weiss, Social Ecologist and Community Educator

"This was a fascinating and thought-provoking evening. We can always rely on Gina to bring great new information to stimulate us. The discussion afterwards was very insightful and enjoyable."

Dr David Paul, Professor of Leadership and specialist in complex change.
